The Galley Hill Dash
2021/24
Our first event after lock-down was a theatrical road race up and down the Galley Hill in Mile Cross in 2021.
The perfect place for a race, the Galley Hill provides great viewing all the way up and down the hill. Made complete by entertainment from The Common Lot Cheerleaders and a visit by Captain Canary himself, residents took part in a fancy dress fun run, a competitive road race organised by the Mile Cross Runners, and a slow bike race.
Great fun was had by all.
On 14th September 2024 year repeated the event with a wheelbarrow race, a mobility scooter parade and, for the more competitive, a serious slog 8 times up and 7 times down the hill.

"That was exhausting, but good fun! ... I think I may just watch the next time though ..."
